Hi there,
I'm Kyana, 30 years old, and the owner of Kywi. I'm a creative, busy person, and a big supporter of sustainable products! I absolutely love decorating my home because those little details can create so much more coziness! I often encounter the same kind of decorations in stores: cheap, mass-produced, not very innovative, and certainly not sustainable. Not what I was looking for... With this idea in mind, I started experimenting with sustainable materials a year and a half ago to create unique, handmade design items that not everyone has. Initially, I only made creations to give as gifts to friends and family. Thanks to the many positive reactions I received, my work expanded rapidly. Eventually, I took my products to various craft fairs, started my own business and launched my webshop.
The products
I work with jesmonite, a sustainable material that I handcraft in small batches. It's a beautiful material that looks like stone but is surprisingly lighter. Jesmonite requires some practice and experience to create truly fine finishes. Each piece is unique because it's handmade—and that, for me, is the most charming.
The creations are further finished with hand-poured soy wax, which is eco-friendly and also vegan. Soy wax also offers many advantages over paraffin. For example, the candle burns much longer, the combustion process is less harmful, and it triggers far fewer allergic reactions.
Our vases are always filled with the most beautiful, hand-selected dried flowers, which are a sustainable alternative to fresh flowers.
